I was livid when Chess because popular for redditors. They had to lower the starting elo of online accounts by 200 elo. The most popular creators are either fvgs like Hikaru, who the chess world have historical hated, literal twitch thots the botez sisters, flagrant clout chasers like Gotham chess, or tiktok fags who literally don't know how to play the game. This is all supported by people who barely know how to play the game, and so the memes, content, and the overall reputation of chess has been turned reddit. I fucking hate these people.

Never been a chess guy, though I've always known how to play (just not play well). But I feel really bad for the old chess people, and have ever since it started to become an esport-type phenomenon. What sucks is that the tidal wave of idiotic normies all hates the old guard chess players because they're the meanie-head gatekeepers who just hate everyone and don't want anyone to play chess.

Real. The shorter time controls teach people to play for tricks instead of playing for perfection.

Reading your post made me understand why I hated Glenn Beck so much when he was made popular by Fox News during the Tea Party protests. He would get out there with his corny green blackboard and talk about the Frankfurt School and Gramsci’s march through the institutions. But he was so clearly fat, dull and weepy that it made all the ideas he brought up repugnant. So when I wanted to bring up real things like the Frankfurt School, I couldn’t because the listener would think of that ugly podperson face with the cringe “ahh shucks” cuck delivery and not believe me. It’s not enough you should agree with me. You must agree with me for the right reasons. So true.

It sucks liking stage performances because they haven't been good since 1989, or arguably since the 70s. Now troons have such terminally online corrupted Zoomerbrains that they haven't touched opera or comic opera and probably never will, but awful Gen X and Millennial types have permanently damaged stage performances as something gay and faggy. You can pinpoint the precise moment when comic opera and theater stopped being for aspiring classical Shakespearean actors and started being for flaming homosexuals and quirky women.

Gilbert & Sullivan is the main victim of this arrangement. I actually still kind of like the 1983 Pirates of Penzance (which was retardedly renamed to "Pirates!"), but it's objectively worse than the original comic opera from 1879. Part of what makes G&S so funny is the fact that you have whacky characters in absurd situations, but they don't know they're supposed to be funny and take everything completely seriously. The absurd rules their leaders come up with are totally reasonable to their minds, and it's very important that they try to follow them.

It's funny when a warlike band of grizzled, yet dignified pirates can't plunder any ships because they always spare orphans and the crew of every ship in the Atlantic knows to say they're entirely made up of orphans. It's not funny when you have ham-fisted pantomime actors in way too much makeup screaming about it and trying way too hard to get laughs out of the audience. The Canadian Stratford Festival people are especially bad about this. They had some good talent in the 80s but just went way too far in trying to make it like a Broadway musical and milk every joke for more than it's worth.

I refuse to watch any G&S performances from after the 2000s on principle. The only exceptions I've made were a 1990s performance of Patience and a 2005 performance of Trial by Jury by the Sydney Opera House, who kept up relatively high-quality performances for far longer than their counterparts. Even then, they pale in comparison to the work they did in the 1970s. Pardon the rant. I talk so much about Richard Wagner and about Gilbert and Sullivan that I really need to start writing some actual substack articles about them.

Its difficult to be a male with nerd interests without coming across troons because troons are just male nerds themselves. They get corrupted by their porn based fetishes and then corrupt the hobby and communities from within.

Byep. It's annoying for me being an anime chud. So many dysgenic freaks and brown people have flooded in. At least they used to get bullied, but now. Also, liking old Fallouts and Baldur's Gate is a pain with how many surface level fags are in it that eat up slop. 40k has got a lot of reddit stuff especially because of the new Space Marine game.

Thank goodness my main hobby interest is expensive, physically demanding, and highly skill expressive, no such problems for me!
